Did You Know…
People who think they have been treated unfairly in life are 28-55% more likely to suffer some type of heart ailment such as a heart attack or chest pain depending on how severely their perception of having been wronged, says a study University College London funded by US and British government health agencies. Low levels of perceived unfairness resulted in a 28% greater likelihood to suffer a coronary event than those who thought like was fair, while those who thought they had experienced the worst injustices were 55% more likely to have heart problems. This finding adds a growing body of research that links poor cardiovascular and mental health to racial and gender discrimination.
