What The Doctor Didn't Tell Me

I shaved my head this summer and discovered I had acne sores on the back of my scalp. I think I had before but they were not noticeable. Since slicing a sore isn't a great idea, I wondered what in our medicine cabinet would help.

What I Discovered

To my delight, a solution was right in front of me. Tea tree oil has an amazing number of uses -- it can fight bacteria, viruses like cold sores, and dandruff. It can be used as a poultice on wounds as an antiseptic. I decided to see what it could do on everyday acne. What I discovered is a drop on the end of Q-tip dries out a pimple usually within a day. Tea tree oil is not for everyone - about one of twenty people like my wife have an allergic reaction -- but it's a wonder drug for the rest of us.
