EARACHE submitted by carolgrey on Saturday, May 16, 2009, 08:36:21

What The Doctor Didn't Tell Me

When my kids were small, they would get painful earaches. I'd bring them to the doctor who would prescribe an antibiotic.

What I Discovered

Years ago I read an article in Prevention magazine that said Vitamin A fights infection in the body. I decided to try an experiment. The next time one of my kids got an earache, I pierced a 10,000 IU Vitamin A capsule with a needle. I had her lay on the bed so I could squeeze the oil into the affected ear. I then put a wad of cotton in her ear and I had her continue to lay on the bed for a few minutes to give the oil time to penetrate the ear. Literally within 10 minutes the pain went away and didn't come back. I called a friend who is a ear-nose-throat doctor and asked if what I was doing could cause any harm. He said he couldn't see that it would cause any harm (but he also said he was sure it wouldn't do any good either). I told him that I had proof it did good -- I just wanted to make sure that the small amount of fish oil from the Vitamin A wouldn't cause harm. Since then I have used this method successfully to treat earaches for over 20 years and have shared it with many friends who have all reported the same results.
